Vetanu is a smart veterinary management system designed to digitize medical records and eliminate paper-based workflows in Iranian clinics. Each pet is assigned a unique microchip ID, enabling seamless registration, storage, and tracking of medical and vaccination history. Existing foreign solutions were not compatible with the local ecosystem and failed to meet the specific needs of Iranian veterinarians and clinics, making a localized, scalable, and comprehensive solution essential.
Project Context
Problem
Veterinarians and clinics faced several challenges:
Limited and slow access to pets’ medical history
Human errors caused by paper-based documentation
Difficulty in managing follow-ups and treatment tracking
These issues led to operational inefficiencies, reduced quality of care, and user dissatisfaction.

To understand user needs, we conducted:
Field studies in veterinary clinics
Observation of interactions between veterinarians and pet owners
Competitor analysis and evaluation of existing solutions
Structural review of current workflows and documentation
Research findings indicated a strong need for a simple, fast, and frictionless system to access and manage pet medical data.

At the core, the system relied on microchip-based identification, with each pet assigned a unique ID. This architecture allowed seamless and independent access to medical data for all stakeholders while maintaining data integrity and consistency.
Key Design Decisions
Microchip Integration: Enables fast medical history retrieval, reduces human error, and supports pet recovery if lost
Centralized Dashboard: Displays key pet information immediately upon selection, minimizing cognitive load and navigation
Simple User Flow: Intuitive access to pet information without complexity
